Connected by a Thread: Quilts and Quilters from the Four Corners

January 9–31, 2014

An exhibition about quilts and quilters. Some of the vintage quilts on exhibit are over a hundred years old and on loan from local collectors, which express remarkable stories about their makers and craft. The contemporary pieces chosen for the exhibit are from quilt and textile artists of the Four Corners area. They echo the sense of personal style and storytelling with fabric and color. This exhibit was a collaboration with Dolores Mountain Quilt Guild, Cortez Quilting Company and borrowing from the collections of Connie Nordstrom and Patty Joy. Cortez Quilting Company was also exhibit sponsor.
