DAC Arts Education

DAC offers year-round education programs in the visual and performing arts, featuring classes, family art camps, Saturday workshops and open studios for teens, adults and children as young as two years of age. Whether engaging with professional artists in the DAC Education Studio or reaching out to local schools to strengthen arts in the classroom, DAC aspires to cultivate creativity in learners of all ages and abilities. Durango Arts Center programs curriculum correlates with Local, State and National Education Standards in CO and NM.

In addition to the array of contemporary arts opportunities held in our fully equipped Education Studio, DAC also offers exciting performing arts and theatrical workshops in the DAC Theater.

DAC Arts Education department provides excellent adult and youth education in the arts within a cooperative and inspiring learning environment.

Come Get Involved

Family Gallery Activity Guide: learn about art and experience DAC exhibits. Art Parties for Kids & Adults: Whatever your interest – painting, ceramics, printmaking or sculpture, we have an art party for you! DAC Docent Program: an allvolunteer group that offers tours of gallery exhibits for adults and children and the Art in the School Program for elementary school children and other groups in the community. DAC also offers docent-led gallery tours and docent-led hands-on art activities for school groups.

Cancellation Policy:
The Durango Arts Center reserves the right to cancel any class or workshop if it does not meet minimum enrollment. For a student to cancel a class or workshop and receive a refund, contact the Durango Arts Center 10 days before start of class or workshop. If the 10 day notice is given, the DAC will refund your payment less a 15% registration fee based on the tuition. NO REFUNDS will be issued for cancellations made within 10 days of the start of the class or workshop. If you register for a class or workshop within the 10 day period, you will receive no refund for cancellation.
