April 24 – June 2  Textiles Today: Redefining the Medium

May – June  Re-Imagining the Book by Joy Campbell.

May 18  The top entries of the 10-Minute Play 2012 Contest will be presented as staged readings at The Durango Arts Center. The Judges will select the top 5 entries and the winner of the Grand Prize Award ($500). Audience members will select their favorite 10 Minute Play for an award of $50. 7 p.m. Admission is free.

May 18  DAC Annual Membership Meeting. 5:30 p.m. Cash bar and social followed by the Annual Report.

May 18  Textiles Today lecture by Liz Axford, 7:30 p.m. in the Dance Studio at DAC. Free and open to the public.

May 18  Application deadline for the Durango Autumn Arts Festival. Go to www.Zapplication.org to register. The registration fee is $30, and booth fees are $300.

May 19  Choral Society’s Cabaret, 5:30 p.m. Talented singers will perform favorites ranging from Broadway show tunes to opera while you enjoy hors d’oeuvres and drinks. Purchase tickets at www.durangochoralsociety.com or call (800) 838-3006.

June 7  Inaugural First Thursdays, 5 – 8 p.m. The First Thursdays gallery walk is a celebration of the arts in downtown Durango when galleries and other venues showing art open their doors on the first Thursday of each month to introduce new exhibits and artists.

June 7 – June 30  36th Annual Juried Exhibition, reception is June 8, 5-7 p.m.
