February 1 & 2: "Kids Follies": This ever-popular fun-filled family version of the Follies returns to the DAC Theater, at 5 and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for seniors, students and children.

The Durango Arts Center is pleased to announce its 2012 10-Minute Play Contest, which will culminate in a full production in the fall of 2012.

February 9, 10, 16, 17, 18, 7:30 p.m.

February 14, 7:30 p.m. (a special Valentines’ Day Showing)

February 18, 2 p.m. matinee

This second-longest running off-Broadway musical explores everything you wanted to know about the joys of dating, romance, marriage, lovers, husbands, wives and in-laws but were afraid to ask. Produced by Imaginary Friends, directed by Mona Wood-Patterson with music direction by Helen Gregory. Not recommended for children under 12.

10 Submissions due for the 10-Minute Play Contest.

11 Handmade Cards for Valentines with Pat Senecal, 10 a.m.–1 p.m.  Education studio.

11 Sweetheart of the Arts honoring Gemma Kavanagh, Linda Mack, Rochelle Mann and Mona Wood-Patterson. 5:30 p.m. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres; 7 p.m. entertainment and presentations. Tickets are $75 and go on sale January 11. Reservation deadline is January 25.

14-25 Sweetheart of the Arts exhibit in the Barbara Conrad Gallery with artwork by Stanton Englehart and Maryellen Long and works from the Ballantine Family collection, all former Sweethearts of the Arts. Closing reception: Friday, January 24, 5-7 p.m.

15 Musically Speaking San Juan Symphony’s pre-concert talk by Maestro Arthur Post in the Barbara Conrad Gallery, 6 p.m.

25 Durango Dot Comedy, 8 p.m. $10 at the door

The top entries of the 10-Minute Play 2012 Contest will be presented as staged readings at The Durango Arts Center.  The Judges will select the top 5 entries and the winner of the Grand Prize Award ($500). Audience members will select their favorite 10 Minute Play for an award of $50.
