Come enjoy a Sunday afternoon with silent film classics accompanied live by professional
pianist Adam Swanson! For the last show of the year, Adam will accompany both a comedy
short and feature length movie. First, enjoy the slapstick comedy of Laurel and Hardy, then
Durango railfans, heads up! Dixie Flyer is an incredible movie filmed on the Santa Fe Railroad
in 1926, with thrilling train chases. All films will be accompanied with original period music
LIVE on the DAC’s beautiful 9-foot grand piano. These events will be family friendly, so bring
your kids and enjoy this fun and unique opportunity.

Putting Pants on Philip (Hal Roach Studios, 1927)
Starring Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy
In one of their earliest classic comedy shorts, Laurel and Hardy deliver laughs every minute.
Pompous J. Piedmont Mumblethunder greets his nephew from Scotland, who arrives in kilts. He
is immediately taken to a tailor for a pair of proper pants… and all chaos ensues!

Dixie Flyer (Trem Carr Pictures, 1926)
Starring Cullen Landis and Eva Novak
Recently restored by the Library of Congress, this rare film is a stunning look at the Santa Fe
Railroad in 1926, with daring train chases throughout the picture. The railroad is building a new
line, but one of the board members has a saboteur on site. Female heroine Eva Novak, who plays
Rose, was best known as Tom Mix’s costar in his famous westerns. Watch as the president’s
special car is destroyed… and Rose must jump from a racing engine to another speeding train. In
Dixie Flyer, will she be able to save the day?
