Planned Giving
Create a legacy and make a big impact with a future gift.
Whether you would like to support our work today or benefit us beyond your lifetime, you can find a charitable plan that meets your needs. Below are some of the most popular plans to consider.
Remember Us in Your Will
Structure your will to provide for your family first. Then include a gift to the charitable organizations you love. Just a few simple sentences and a meeting with an estate planning attorney are all it takes.
Make a Gift and Receive Fixed Payments for Life
If you’d like to support the Durango Arts Center and receive steady payments for life, a charitable gift annuity may be right for you.
Donate Stocks
If you give stocks you’ve owned for more than one year that are worth more than when you purchased them, you’ll qualify for significant tax advantages.
Give Retirement Plan Assets
Consider making the Durango Arts Center a beneficiary of a percentage of your retirement plan assets. Then, leave less heavily taxed assets to your loved ones.
Arrange a Charitable Trust
With a Charitable Remainder Trust (CRT), you can receive income each year (either fixed or variable) from assets you place in the trust. After your lifetime, the balance in the trust goes to the Durango Art Center or other charities of your choice.
With a Charitable Lead Trusts (CLT) income payments are provided to the Durango Arts Center, or other qualified charitable organizations, for a period measured by a fixed term of years, the lives of one or more individuals, or a combination of the two; after which, trust assets are paid to either the grantor or to one or more non-charitable beneficiaries named in the trust instrument.
USE LIFE INSURANCE
Using life insurance is a simple way to leverage your charitable giving. Life insurance can be used to make a substantial gift to the Durango Arts Center such as donating a policy, transferring ownership of a policy, or by naming the DAC as the beneficiary.
Donors should consult with their own financial advisors regarding a planned gift.
