On Saturday, May 9 (7:00pm), Raven Narratives returns with an evening of true stories that are as funny as they are heartfelt — centered on the wild, wonderful, complicated world of Moms & Mothering.
This is storytelling at its best: real people, real moments, and stories you couldn’t make up if you tried. Expect a little bit of everything—laugh-out-loud mishaps, tender memories, unexpected twists, and those perfectly human moments that sneak up on you and stay awhile. One minute you’re laughing, the next you’re nodding along, and somewhere in there, you realize how beautifully strange and shared this whole life thing is.
Many of the stories stretch beyond the traditional idea of “mom”—exploring the art of mothering in all its forms: caring for animals (wild or domestic), showing up for friends, tending to ourselves, or even holding space for the world at large. You’ll hear what it means to be mothered in this current, wild and ever-changing world—by humans doing the very best they can with what they’ve been given. Expect glimpses of birth stories, travel adventures, surprising detours, and a celebration of the fierce, funny, and downright badass ways women (and those who mother) move through life.
Each story has been thoughtfully shaped through the Raven Narratives process, so what unfolds on stage feels effortless, intimate, and alive. Every voice brings something surprising to the room.
And, as usual, we will have the Cracker J Box on hand for 1-2 stories off-the-cuff from any audience member that chooses to put their name in the box!
