Saturday, November 22 (7:00pm) — Live Plays!
Are you a writer who loves creating under pressure? An actor or director who loves being on stage but can’t commit to weeks of rehearsals and performances? Then DART’s 24-Hour Theatre is for you!
We are now accepting submissions for creatives who want to be part of this unique theatre experience. All ages and levels of experience are welcome.
We need 20+ Actors, 5 Directors, 5 Writers, and Stage Techies to make all the magic happen.
THE PROCESS
On Friday, November 21 at 7:00 p.m., we’ll kick things off with a special performance hosted by the YAY Foundation. We will take over the first part of their show, getting a series of prompts for the writers and cast breakdowns to incorporate into their short plays. They will then hit the ground running, creating scripts overnight, all due by 5:00 a.m. Saturday, November 22. Then, on Saturday, directors arrive at 8:00 a.m. and actors at 9:00 a.m. They’ll rehearse all day before performing that very same evening at 7:00pm — bringing the blank page to the stage in just 24 hours, from conception to production!
