ABOUT THIS EVENT

Join us for the flagship event of West Slope Startup Week! For the second year of the Startup Colorado Pitch Competition, we’ll be at the beautiful Durango Arts Center for the first time. A fresh lineup of innovative rural Colorado companies will take the stage to compete for investment and recognition.

This year’s competition features startups from across rural Colorado, each bringing unique solutions and bold visions to tackle real-world challenges. These entrepreneurs represent the entrepreneurial spirit thriving in Colorado’s rural communities.

What’s at stake:

  • Startup Colorado will contribute $10,000 to the Kiva zero interest crowd lending campaigns for at least 2 finalists.

  • Funding partners will complete due diligence on top companies that apply; and announce an investment offer to those businesses at the end of the competition.

  • In- kind awards for legal, marketing, and mentorship.

  • Crowd members will not just be attendees- they will be encouraged to also be active supporters and contribute to Kiva loan campaigns for their favorite businesses!

  • More exciting awards to be announced closer to the event!

Watch as founders deliver compelling pitches to a panel of experienced investors and industry leaders, competing for funding opportunities that could transform their businesses. For the first time, we’re also introducing a Crowd Favorite Award — giving the audience the power to recognize the startup that captures their imagination and enthusiasm.

You’ll experience:

  • High-energy pitches from promising rural Colorado startups

  • Expert feedback and evaluation from seasoned investors

  • Networking opportunities with entrepreneurs, investors, and community leaders

  • The chance to vote for your favorite startup in our new Crowd Favorite Award

  • Insights into the investment process and what makes a winning pitch

  • Inspiration from founders who are building the future from Colorado’s rural communities

Whether you’re an aspiring entrepreneur, potential investor, or simply love seeing innovation in action, this competition showcases the incredible talent and creativity emerging from rural Colorado.
